Monte B. Tucker, Managing Director » Email
Mr. Tucker entered healthcare in the early 70s and has served in various senior management positions. Mr. Tucker serves as Managing Director and has helped guide HealthCare Markets Group from a finance emphasis to a full-service investment banking and consulting consortium. He successfully developed a lease finance portfolio with one of the nation’s largest utilities, established an innovative asset management program, and continues to maintain an integral role as financial advisor and investment banker in mergers and acquisitions.
During his career, Mr. Tucker has sponsored the acquisition and development of ambulatory surgery centers, acute care hospitals, cancer treatment centers, outpatient imaging centers, medical office buildings, home healthcare agencies, sleep labs, management information systems, and numerous hospital-based technology programs. He has participated in an advisory role to leading healthcare companies for facility planning, joint ventures, strategic plans, feasibility studies, pool financings, due diligence, and technical assessments.
Francis J. Curry, Managing Director » Email
Mr. Curry has over 20 years of investment banking and corporate financing experience, including capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and syndications, private equity, structured financing and financial consulting. Mr. Curry has held senior level finance and operations management positions for start-ups, spin-offs, and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Curry’s combination of financial acumen, healthcare expertise, and extensive transaction experience has resulted in multiple engagements designed to strategically position the Firm’s clients as leaders in their respective sectors, while maximizing shareholder value. Mr. Curry started his career as a tax accountant for Arthur Andersen.
R. Lloyd Ross, Director » Email
Mr. Ross’ career started in the late 70s with progressive management experience in various segments of the industry, as well as in a wide range of functional areas of expertise. Over the past ten years Mr. Ross has focused on turnaround activities, venture capital and interim role as CFO for various projects. Mr. Ross has also served as subject matter expert on several high-profile bankruptcy/litigation matters. Before coming to the firm Mr. Ross was a financial director for a large hospital company and was charged with the financing of capital assets. Further, he actively participated in an aggressive facility acquisition and development program, which included two public offerings, the industry’s first accounts receivable commercial paper funding program and a real estate investment trust.
Previously, Mr. Ross served as an executive with KPMG Peat Marwick and Ernst and Young in their respective healthcare management consulting practices. During his tenure in public accounting, Mr. Ross participated and managed feasibility study engagements with public accounting’s most active healthcare practices during the peak period of hospital revenue bond issues. Mr. Ross is a noted speaker and acknowledged as a specialist in facility turnarounds, cash acceleration programs and strategic planning.
K. Scott Richardson, Director » Email
Mr. Richardson has held positions in hospital management, as a professor, sales and executive management positions for several medical imaging companies. He has extensive experience in marketing, distribution, refurbishing and manufacturing, major medical equipment. Mr. Richardson has served as a Board Member of several companies and is exceptionally strong at strategic planning. He has participated in an advisory or an executive management role of projects ranging from company start-ups, turn-a-rounds, mergers, divestitures and purchase transactions. Mr. Richardson graduated in 1974 with a degree in Radiology and followed with a Masters Degree in Health Administration in 1976.
Jack Beckwith, Director » Email
Mr. Beckwith is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraiser Machinery and Technical Specialists. Mr. Beckwith earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1973 from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a major in Management and minor in Finance. As an Accredited Senior Appraiser, he has maintained his mandatory recertification as required by the American Society of Appraisers since 1998. In addition, Mr. Beckwith has been a staff instructor for the American Society of Appraisers teaching Principle of Valuation courses over the past seven years.
Mr. Beckwith’s area of expertise is primarily machinery and equipment/personal property. However, he has valued buildings and improvements for insurance purposes. In addition to his valuation experience, Mr. Beckwith has been an expert witness in the United States Bankruptcy Court and in various counties for personal property ad valorem tax litigation. These research assignments since 1998 include Personal Property and Inventory appraisals in such industries as construction, retail, aviation, food service, health care, light gauge fabrication, wafer fabrication, printing, confectionery production, refueling stations and paper mill.
Though he is based in Texas, Mr. Beckwith has performed and supervised valuations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. He has been published for various valuation topics in The M&TS Journal and the ASA Professional.
Daniel R. Ward, Director of Asset Management » Email
Mr. Ward has over twelve years of diverse experience in leasing, asset management, and product management with GE Healthcare Financial Services, the leading global supplier and financier of medical imaging equipment for healthcare providers. Mr. Ward has successfully managed a multi-billion dollar lease portfolio, with contributions in every aspect of portfolio management including account management, equipment valuation, portfolio analytics, and equipment re-marketing. His experience in both financial services and medical technologies provides healthcare facilities with the expertise needed to effectively manage their leased medical equipment assets. Mr. Ward holds a Masters of Business Administration.
Robert D. Moody, Associate » Email
Mr. Moody joined the HMG’s Machinery and Equipment Appraisal Services Division in 2010. He provides fair market value appraisals to clients in the healthcare industry. Mr. Moody specializes in providing fair market value services for the fixed assets and leasehold improvements for all healthcare providers including but not limited to: physician practices of all sizes and specializations, imaging and dialysis centers, ambulatory surgery centers and acute care hospitals specialty departments.
Prior to joining HMG, Mr. Moody was Operations Manager for the Houston division of Adesa one of the nationals leading redistribution companies in the automotive industry.
